    Rustic Mason Jar Centerpiece

This rustic-glam centerpiece is great for any setting. I originally made it because I had to make centerpieces for husband’s family reunion. While I was scrolling through Pinterest looking for inspiration, I came across this pin. I loved the look of jute twine, pearls, and wire all together so I decided to add my own flair to it. They turned out so well that I decided to make some for home too. Supplies: Jute twine Mason jar or vase Pearl beads (or beaded wire garland) Wire (or beaded wire garland) Wire cutters Scissors Picture Flameless LED candle Hot glue gun Glue sticks I first purchased some mason jars. I made…

    Best Stain Remover

Between four kids and the dog, things get pretty messy in my house. I’m always on the lookout for cleaning tips and hacks on Pinterest. After seeing several pins of this stain remover, I knew I had to try it for myself. I have used this stain remover on several different types of stains, and it works every time. The stains have ranged from red juice and wood stain on the carpet, (husband stepped on wood stain that had spilled on the garage floor and tracked it on my brand new carpet in my newly built house), chocolate stains, dog urine stains, and the list goes on and on. I…

    Christmas/Valentine’s Day Wreath

I love making wreaths. They’re a simple decorative item that can totally transform your front door and give your home great curb appeal. When I was brainstorming ideas for my Christmas wreath, I knew I wanted to easily transition it to the next big holiday. It just so happens the next big holiday is one of my favorite holiday’s, Valentine’s Day! I am a Valentine’s baby, so I might be a little biased. 🙂 I went all out this year with Valentine’s Day decor. I even decorated my King of Christmas Tree! You can see my King of Hearts Valentine’s Day Tree blog post here. Supplies Needed: Christmas Wreath: Sunburst grapevine…

    Easy DIY Giant Picture Frame

We recently had family photos taken. I wanted to display our main photo in my living room, and I wanted the picture to be very big. You can print out large pictures at a decent price, especially if you do an engineer print like I did. Large picture frames, on the other hand, can be expensive, so I decided to make my own. This was our first time making something like this, so I didn’t want it to be too difficult. I bought a very basic frame from Hobby Lobby to place on the wooden frame that we built. Someday if I grow tired of this frame I can paint…

    DIY Rustic Wood Sign Tutorial

I was scrolling through Pinterest and came across this sign from The Peddlers Shed on Etsy. Joshua 1:9 is one of my favorite scriptures, so I felt compelled to re-create it. I had most of the supplies to make it, so I got started on this awesome project.  Materials needed: Wood of your choice (pallet wood, scrap wood, cedar, pine, etc.) Stain Paint pen or paint and a paintbrush Sandpaper Chalk Saw Level Nails/screws  Screw driver/drill, hammer/nail gun Print out of the scripture in the font and size of print you want I used leftover Cedar that was used to build the gables over my front porch. My husband was…

    Easy Instant Pot Pinto Beans

In my house, pinto beans are a must have. I always make sure to have some made because we use them so often.  I make a lot of Mexican dishes that require beans. I use them for burritos or as a side. We also love them in bean dip and chili.   I first learned to make beans on the stove top. That’s a good method, but requires constant supervision. When I got my first crock pot, I started using that for my beans. That’s another good option, but it takes a long time. For Christmas last year, I got an Instant Pot.  Can you guess what the first thing I…

    Red & Silver Christmas Tree

We got a new flocked Christmas tree this year! Everyone who has seen it has commented on how beautiful it is. We have even received compliments from our neighbors who can see it in the window as they drive by our house. After doing research on flocked Christmas trees, we decided to get the 7 ft Prince Flock artificial Christmas tree with LED lights from King of Christmas. I ordered our tree on a Monday evening and received it Thursday of the same week. It only took 3 days to get it. My whole family was so excited, we put it up the same day we got it. It came…

Sugar Free and Low Carb Peppermint Mocha Latte with Bullet Proof Option (Keto and THM Friendly)

I had my first peppermint mocha latte at Starbucks a few years ago and fell in love! It’s my go-to drink, even during the high heat of summer. The only things I don’t like are the price and sugar content. Several months ago I discovered Trim Healthy Mama andbegan to cut sugar from my diet. I do not own any of their books and do not follow the eating plan closely, but I joined their Facebook group and follow THM boards on Pinterest. I have learned about some good sugar alternatives and low carb recipes from THM.  I’m not completely sugar free yet, but I’m working on it.  I absolutely…

    How I Refinished My Banister

I finally made time to refinish my banister and the strip of wood next to the staircase. It looked okay to begin with, but there were some minor imperfections I wanted to fix, and I wanted to see the natural beauty of the wood. Here are a couple of before pictures. Supplies needed: Sander or sand paper Stain Paint brushes or foam brushes and rags Wood filler Polyurethane I started off by filling the nail holes with wood filler. After the wood filler was dry, I sanded the whole surface with my electric sander. There was a corner that was very sharp, so I sanded that down as well. I…
